This novel hybrid emerges from the parentage of Permanent Marker (released in ‘22) and RS-11. It’s a Indica-dominant cultivar―likely in the range of 70% (to 30% Sativa)―boasting a THC content of 18.7%, with other cultivators online reporting THC levels up to 31%. Its genetics trace back to Biscotti, Sherbet BX, and Jealousy, hinting at the complex terpene profile cannaseurs can expect.
The aroma of Magic Marker is terrifically pungent; you’ve heard rappers carry on about “gas”, well, this is it. The astringent, minty, and diesel notes, backed with a hint of liquorice, is reminiscent of smelling the Forest Green markers of our school days. There’s a strong presence of Limonene in the foreground, the terpene responsible for the sour lemon character, along with notes of Pinene (pine), Caryophyllene (clove spice), and Myrcene (earthy, fruity, and clove-like), creating quite the unique olfactory experience.
Visually, Magic Marker departs from the “champagne” lineage (referring to the near-colourless top-shelf strains). Instead, it presents a rich range of light and dark greens, including purples, adorned with a generous coating of orange pistils. The flowers are of the brittle variety (ie, not soft and fluffy) demonstrating a moderate density without excessive manicuring. A commendable layer of trichomes adorns the exterior of the flower, with a noticeable increase in crystalline magnificence towards the core. The resin factor is noticeably present, but isn’t overtly sticky.
And now for what you’ve all been waiting for, the ‘ol burn test. The smoke is surprisingly smooth, devoid of any harshness whatsoever. The taste, to immense satisfaction, largely reflects the terpene composition, along with a pronounced nuttiness (characteristic of landraces) including a sweetness indicative of most indoor varieties.
Experientially, Magic Marker delivers a deeply relaxing sensation for both body and mind (in that it slows thinking), with heightened perception of colour and music, while the Sativa influence manifests in the occasional “restless legs” syndrome. Notably, social setting paranoia is entirely absent, with an aphrodisiac effect also becoming apparent.
Includes a 58% RH (Relative Humidity) terpene shield in the corked glass jar presentation. Moisture is key to preserving the flower’s terpenes (and potency). These shields add and/or absorb a precise amount of moisture within the container, preventing degradation or mould.
